When it comes to dining out, the best way to get the most out of it is going to an all you can eat buffet. And when the buffet is of one of the top hotels of Dhaka, it becomes an experience rather than just a dine out. Since Le Mèridien came to Dhaka, I being a foodie had been eagerly waiting to try it out and the lunch buffet was worth the anticipation. The hotel itself is exquisite and so was the interiors of the restaurant Latest Recipe on the 15th floor.
Now the food... The lunch buffet was a multi cuisine one. Appetizers consist of a variety of soups, cold salads and nuts, smoked meats, cheese and sushi. The standout item would be the all you can eat sushi and all of them are a must try, my personal favorite was the Philadelphia maki roll and the Salmon sashimi. Main items had a choice of Indian, Mediterranean and Continental dishes including whole grilled fish, roasted beef, tandoori items, different preparations of rice and countless other sumptuous dishes. And desserts were really good as well including pastries, cakes, ice creams, fruits and chocolates. Their lunch buffet didn't have the chocolate fountain though. Every single item was top notch though the chocolate mousse could be better. For me the best dessert was their tiramisu cake.
Their staff are super friendly and the hospitality was beyond expectations. Price normally is above of BDT 3500 per person but only for #DhakaRW2016 got it at only BDT 1499 nett. It's probably is the best deal resturant week is offering this year and is a must try for everyone!
Do I have to make a reservation?
Not compulsory but it's better to make a reservation
Is the offer valid for lunch and dinner both? And online pre booking is allowed ? Thanks in Advance

It says that cost per person is 2000-5000. Are cost varies time to time or is there any fixed rate?
#DhakaRW2016 the quality of the buffet in the Latest recipe,Le Meridien is equal to none most probably at the moment. Each and every food items were outstanding though they didn't have the chocolate fountain.Deserts were amazing along with everything else I tried. This is the best deal restaurant week has offered.thank you.
I tried a variety of items from the buffet, and my favorite items were definitely the desserts (especially the chocolate mousse, Oreo cheesecake, and tiramisu). I also adored the roast beef-- I believe this is one of the best I've tasted in Dhaka. The view is beautiful, and the ambiance is very nice as well!
Yes, this is the popular saying since Robert Bruce finally destined to his goal, Napoleon manifested French Revolution and so on. And today I have learned it through Not only my appetite, with the heart!
Before the restaurant week , I had definite plans regarding my visits and must tries. I was very distinct and sure about making Le Meridien as my only must try! But day before "week" comes into play, I found my tummy wasn't ready to hold on my dreams. ( in terms of space) . So , I need some preparations and drills to grow on and move towards my ultimate supremacy. Meanwhile, I have visited 16 other restaurants participating this super-week.
And yesterday, finally I got signals from my heart that he is ready and craved for the go. And Here I am!
When I entered Latest Recipe today, as it was prebooked, I got a seat near the window with amazing Scenario. With time, I found Latest Recipe was fully booked today and more people are coming still! I must mention and congratulate them for the outstanding efforts they put on next. Because they didn't refuse a single customer back, rather arranged them seats on the Favola.
Let's start with the ambience and environment. In sharp contrast to the two other places I mentioned, this restaurant is modern-looking, with contemporary furniture everywhere. You will see splashes of teal and orange everywhere, complementing the black/white marble with a dash of metal. The colors are bright, they pop and they do not feel mundane. The place is equally appealing to family-of-12 dinners and special dates for two. You get a gorgeous view from the 15th floor of Kuril Flyover and all its surroundings, revealing a surprising bit of greenery to the concrete-exhausted eyes of Dhakaites. I've included some pictures - check them out!
There was far too much food for one person to handle, but I tried to sample everything.
1) Salad bar: Apart from a very cucumber heavy beef salad, everything else seemed great. Ingredients were fresh! The exquisite situation was so lucrative that even a Veg-hater had messages to GO on!
2) Bread counter: This was a pleasant surprise to me. I can't name all the breads, but there was a great, fresh variety of them. They are baked right behind the counter, and there are a variety of cheeses to choose from as well. (Bleu Cheese, Gouda and other pretentious + delicious sounding stuff. Have some of this real bleu cheese with garlic bread. It is life changing.)
3) Local tastes: There was a counter serving lamb roast, grilled fish, roasted chicken, biriyani... and some curries.
5) Sushi:this place has a sushi station. I'd say that we've been spoiled by the likes of Samdado, the Korean places and even new ones like Tokyo Express. I'm sad to say that it wasn't extraordinary to me in any way. I'm sure it will pick up with time, though!
6) Grilled meat: There was a selection of beef, lamb and fish that were raw and could be grilled as per your needs, but they were continuously being grilled and served. I didn't get a chance to customize, but I am sure they allowed it. Personally, I LIKED THE FOOD FROM THIS SECTION THE BEST. The beef was perfect, tender and just a little rare (the way I like it).
7) Fruits: There is a dedicated counter just for fruits and fresh fruit juices. Good stuff, but nothing much more I can say here.
😎 Desserts: Okay, this section is going to be BIG.The counter had all these cakes - Cheese cake, Red Velvet cake and Mango cake. Right next to that there were bangali sweets. There were these sticks of fruits and other stuff that you could coat with chocolate and munch on. I also recall seeing 4-6 types of Ice-Cream on Display.
I generally hate rating food and places, because each experience is unique in its own right.
The desserts here are beyond outstanding and so is the area that offers grilled meat. Sushi and salads are alright. The experience in total is fantastic - bright colors, VERY MODERN interiors that make you feel like you aren't in Bangladesh, spread-out counters and gorgeous views along two of the four outer walls (that remind you that you are still in Bangladesh)
Thank You Dhaka Foodies, for such an amazing opportunities!
Hope to see you again, with all these on winter!
Some people says, "Money can't buy happiness."
Regarding Food review, I often say, " Money can't ensure quality" . A good example can be set by putting Le Meridien Buffet under observation. They are offering buffer with a reduced price, regardless of hampering a bit of their quality!
A one word "Outstanding " is the answer to all the questions of what the provide. It may be food, ambience, service, hospitality, decorations and what not!
There were a huge options for the food lovers from biriyani to nan, bread to butter. Individual Salad bars with variety of salads, Curries of huge variety, and and and The Great LIVE GRILL STATION. Options for choosing the pieces and way of cooking u liked to be served with a minute or two, Grilled fish and what not!
If u think u are done to what menu I have already mention, wait. Just wait , because this doesn't even deserves 60% of your heartfelt love. Because DESSERTS are on the way. Nobody except Your Tastebud in the world can explain You, how much tasty there were. You can simply wait thousands of years to feel them on your Tastebud.
I am proud because I have not wasted such an opportunity!
All hail to Dhaka Foodies for such am opportunity!
