Visited Cilantro during Ramadhan. Couldn't get a spot inside the air conditioned area, so had to sit on the outdoor tables.
The place looks good. Decoration is nice, specially the lights are unique. Staff are polite, well behaved. Overall, a great atmosphere.
But the reason we foodies visit a place is for the food right? In short, the food was not good. I wanted to order a la carte but they said they don't have the items on the menu. They only had two variants of Iftar platters.
So I ordered two Iftar platters for me and my guest. They gave us some complimentary dates. One piece of date for each of us and another thinly cut slice of malta. Wow!
As for the food, the platter had a few pieces of the same kabab. The kabab was good, but just three pieces and that was the only main item. With that they served a kind of rice, or should I call that a khichuri? Anyway, there wasn't much of anything else. And they charged 700 each for this sumptuous(!) meal.
Please avoid this place if you can. Really overpriced and overrated by its patrons for some reason. But if you value good food, you would be disappointed.
I had the 499 restaurant week platter. They gave the 999 order instead. But when we asked, they changed their order and gave us a potatas brava for free. They took a little time. The platter was really good too. Loved the sliders! Great interior. But a small place.
Always served fresh gourmet quality food.
Their Tacos, fries, enchiladas and Mexican Platter are my all time favorite dishes. And i never miss to order the "Blackjack" Drink.
